Jeremy Dalrymple from the R Street Institute has highlighted the significance of the REINS Act, emphasizing that it is not just a policy solution but a constitutional necessity. He elaborates on the political strategies that have delayed its progress and argues for legislative accountability. Dalrymple stresses that both political parties should be more concerned about unchecked bureaucratic power than their rivalry.
“The REINS Act is more than a policy fix—it’s a constitutional imperative,” Dalrymple stated. He further explained how this act aims to restore balance by ensuring Congress plays an active role in major regulatory decisions.
Dalrymple also pointed out, “The case for legislative accountability is clear.” He believes that without such measures, there could be significant consequences stemming from unregulated bureaucratic actions.
He concluded by urging both parties to recognize the potential risks posed by unchecked bureaucrats, stating they should fear this threat more than each other.
