U.S. and Indonesia reaffirm trade agreement to boost economic ties

The United States and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, which both countries see as a way to strengthen economic security and promote growth. Leaders from both nations expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation.

According to the joint statement, “The Agreement will help both countries to strengthen economic security, promote economic growth, and thereby continuously lead to global prosperity.” The leaders also directed their respective ministers and secretaries to take further steps toward what they described as a “NEW GOLDEN AGE” for the U.S.-Indonesian alliance.

The agreement was signed in Washington, D.C., on February 19, 2026. President Donald J. Trump represented the United States, while President Prabowo Subianto signed for Indonesia.
