Today, Independent Women’s Vice President for Communications, Victoria Coley, issued a statement regarding the upcoming “Her Game. Her Legacy.” event scheduled for June 23 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The celebration marks the 53rd Anniversary of Title IX and the start of National Women’s Sports Week.

Coley confirmed that “Her Game. Her Legacy.” is proceeding as planned at the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market Pavilion. She emphasized that all event details and security measures have been communicated to venue staff. According to Coley, “Nothing has changed—except for the excitement building.”

The event aims to honor girls and women in sports by welcoming young female athletes, coaches, families, and supporters. It will feature interactive games such as sack toss and foosball, face painting, a pink carpet moment for athletes, and free items like hats and t-shirts.

A short program will include a “Step into Your Power” warm-up session along with remarks from local athletes and parents.

Coley addressed media reports she described as “fundamentally false and defamatory,” stating they seem intended to undermine the event’s positive message. She reiterated Independent Women’s commitment to respect and equality for all people while supporting women’s empowerment.
