The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) has issued a statement regarding recent developments in the U.S. Senate related to educational reform. Erika Donalds, Chair for Education Opportunity and AFPI’s Florida chapter, commented on the Senate’s progress with their version of what is being called the Big Beautiful Bill.
“The Senate has taken a major step toward transforming American education,” said Donalds. She highlighted that this bill includes permanent tax credit scholarships, marking it as “the most significant federal commitment to school choice in our nation’s history.”
Donalds acknowledged that while the process is not yet complete, the advancement represents “a powerful signal.” She noted that both chambers of Congress are moving forward with key reforms and expressed optimism about reaching a significant milestone in education policy.
“We want to thank our champions in both chambers—and recognize President Donald J. Trump, whose leadership has rightly earned him the title of School Choice President,” Donalds stated.
She concluded by emphasizing the potential impact of this policy: “When this policy makes it across the line, we won’t just be expanding opportunity—we’ll be entering the Golden Age of American education, where families lead, and children thrive.”
“Let’s get it done!” she urged.
