BGR Group, a prominent bipartisan lobbying and public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of Joe Ellis as Vice President. Ellis, a former senior executive with BP, brings over 20 years of experience from roles in government, litigation, and corporate government affairs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Joe to BGR,” said Erskine Wells, President of BGR Group. “His breadth of experience as a chief of staff, senior executive, and top advance man for three presidents makes him stand out in Washington. He will be a tremendous asset to the firm and our clients.”

Ellis recently served as Chief of Staff to Representative Max Miller (R-OH), where he managed staffing, legislative strategy, policy initiatives, and political matters. Before his time on Capitol Hill, he was Vice President and Head of U.S. Government Affairs and External Campaigns for BP. In this capacity, he led strategic planning for government and public affairs activities across federal, state, and local levels in the U.S.

Ellis’s career also includes representing three presidents in planning significant domestic and international visits. Notably, he coordinated trips for President Trump to Doha, Qatar and the NATO Summit at The Hague.
