The Inter-American Dialogue has announced the addition of four senior fellows to its Mexico Program. Rebecca Bill Chavez, President and CEO of the organization, stated that these experts will contribute significantly to the Dialogue’s work concerning Mexico’s political, economic, and security issues. “These distinguished senior fellows will enrich the Dialogue’s work with their deep expertise on Mexico’s political, economic, and security landscape,” she said. “Their diverse insights will strengthen our analysis and expand our engagement on both the opportunities and challenges in the U.S.-Mexico relationship and the broader region.”
The new senior fellows include Cecilia Farfán-MĂ©ndez from the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime; Gilberto GarcĂa-Vazquez of Datawheel; Jorge Guajardo from DGA Group; and Pamela K. Starr from the University of Southern California.
Cecilia Farfán-MĂ©ndez is known for her expertise in Mexican organized crime and U.S.-Mexico security cooperation. Gilberto GarcĂa-Vazquez specializes in economic complexity, industrial development, and green growth. Jorge Guajardo brings experience as a former Ambassador to China with knowledge in cybersecurity and global supply chains. Pamela K. Starr is recognized for her authority on Mexican politics and U.S.-Mexico relations.
Lila Abed emphasized their role: “Non-Resident Senior Fellows play a vital role in offering informed, timely insights into the most pressing issues that impact the U.S.-Mexico bilateral agenda,” she said.
The Inter-American Dialogue aims to foster cooperation across the Americas by addressing democratic resilience, prosperity, social inclusion, and sustainable development.
