The Heritage Foundation has announced the promotion of EJ Antoni to the position of chief economist. Antoni, who previously served as a research fellow and the Richard Aster Fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, expressed his gratitude for the appointment.
“It’s an honor to be appointed chief economist of The Heritage Foundation, an organization which has been the vanguard of conservatism for more than 50 years,” Antoni stated. He emphasized the opportunity to influence fiscal and monetary policies alongside a dedicated team.
In his new role, Antoni will focus on advancing economic policies that promote freedom and opportunity while addressing government spending. Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, praised Antoni’s capabilities: “EJ Antoni is one of the sharpest economic minds in the country — a fearless truth-teller who understands that sound economics serves the interests of the American people.”
Roberts further highlighted The Heritage Foundation’s commitment to supporting American families and fostering a resilient economy. He noted that free markets should facilitate productive ownership and jobs that support families.
Derrick Morgan, executive vice president of The Heritage Foundation, also commented on Antoni’s appointment: “The Heritage Foundation is thrilled to announce Dr. EJ Antoni as its new chief economist.” Morgan commended Antoni’s ability to communicate complex economic ideas effectively.
Antoni has collaborated with various think tanks and institutes such as Unleash Prosperity and frequently presents his research before legislative bodies. His previous roles include serving as an economist at Texas Public Policy Foundation and teaching courses in economics.
