Steve Cortes, founder of the League of American Workers, said that most Americans support pro-family and pro-citizen border policies, while elites who benefit from migration oppose them. This statement was made on X.
“This pro-citizen, pro-family agenda is actually not controversial to the vast majority of Americans,” said Cortes. “Is is popular with “important” people? No. They materially benefit from mass migration — and very few decision-makers embrace deep personal patriotic love for our homeland.”
Recent polling in 2025, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, indicates that over 60% of Americans favor stricter border security and believe mass migration contributes to lower family wages. Concerns about economic pressure and job competition are at the forefront of the national debate.
According to the Economic Policy Institute, H-1B visa usage in the U.S. technology sector reached 165,000 approvals in 2024. Data suggest that a higher reliance on H-1B workers has exerted downward pressure on average wages for domestic tech employees, particularly in entry-level roles.
A 2025 Urban Institute report finds that high-immigration regions like Miami and Los Angeles experienced a 13% drop in housing affordability over two years. In contrast, low-immigration areas saw only a 4% decrease as increased demand raised rents and home prices.
Cortes is also the President of the League of American Workers and serves as a senior political advisor to CatholicVote. He is a former senior advisor to President Trump and JD Vance and has been a commentator for Fox News and CNN. Cortes regularly releases documentaries and columns at cortesinvestigates.com.
According to its official site, the League of American Workers was founded in 2022 with the aim of promoting immigration reform, higher family wages, and policies that protect U.S. jobs and working families.
