Across the United States, including Pennsylvania, “No Kings 2.0” protests are set to take place this Independence Day. This marks nearly 249 years since the initial struggle against British rule began. A year ago, Pennsylvania found itself at the forefront of a modern battle for rights when President Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.
The question arises: Who represents tyranny in America today?
Recently, during the first wave of “No Kings” protests, incidents occurred involving blocked highways, looted small businesses, and violence against law enforcement. The use of violent force to express political dissent is becoming more common and reflects tactics similar to those used by authoritarian regimes—regimes that these protesters claim to oppose. Many demonstrators appear to be undermining the spirit and history of states like Pennsylvania.
