Narrative Strategies has promoted Heather Owens and Nick DeSarno to managing directors, according to an announcement made Tuesday. The promotions are part of a broader series of advancements within the firm, reflecting its ongoing growth and commitment to expanding expertise for clients.

Owens has played a key role in developing Narrative’s research capabilities, particularly with the launch of its in-house research and competitive intelligence operations. DeSarno is recognized for his work providing clients with strategies in digital advocacy and public affairs. Both have been involved in the firm’s expansion and will now serve as members of its senior leadership team.

The company also announced that Kelly O’Keefe and Avery Monsees have been elevated to Senior Director positions. Additionally, Drew Dacey, Sarah Flakus, and Em-J Krigsman were promoted to Senior Associate roles.

“Heather and Nick have continuously provided value and expertise that helps our clients to gain insight, reach critical audiences, and gain a strategic advantage. Whether they are shaping reputation or trying to achieve a policy objective,” said Narrative CEO and Founding Partner Ken Spain. “Heatherroutinely delivers deeply researched analysis to clients that enables highly informed and data-driven decision-making. Nick’s mastery of grassroots advocacy and digital engagement allows clients to reach the right audiences, drive the most effective messages, and achieve public affairs goals while maximizing resources.”

“Narrative’s greatest resource has always been our team. As Narrative has experienced substantial growth, it is no coincidence our team members continue to grow and thrive as individuals. It shows up in the premium work we work to deliver for our clients,” Spain added.

O’Keefe is one of Narrative’s founding members who now leads the West Palm Beach office. She is known for her ability to quickly master various issues across sectors such as aerospace, manufacturing, real estate, and energy while helping clients achieve their public affairs objectives.

Monsees brings experience from her previous role as Senior Advisor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), working with technology, cybersecurity, and healthcare clients on media relations, crisis response, policy communications, and national positioning efforts.

Senior Associates Dacey, Flakus, and Krigsman contribute through research, writing, media monitoring, and campaign execution across multiple industries.
