Juan Ciscomani voted to uphold tariffs that have been linked to increased costs for American households, according to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
The vote comes as a report from the Tax Foundation found that tariffs cost the average American household $1,000 last year, with projections indicating this could rise to $1,300 in 2026 if current tariffs remain. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said these tariffs are raising costs for Arizonans and that Congress’ oversight authority on these measures was ceded in the recent vote.
The committee said this is not the first time Ciscomani has supported such measures. It noted that in September 2025 and March 2025, Ciscomani and other Republicans voted to protect what it described as price-hiking tariffs. The most recent vote would have extended limited oversight until the summer of 2026.
“Juan Ciscomani once again voted to raise costs on hardworking families and undercut Arizona small businesses. Ciscomani pledged to lower the cost of living on the campaign trail but has done the exact opposite. Promises made, promises broken,” according to DCCC spokesperson Lindsay Reilly.
