Jon Bonck won the Republican primary runoff in Texas’ 38th Congressional District, according to a May 27 announcement from Club for Growth PAC. Bonck, a mortgage and real estate broker, defeated Shelly deZevallos and will advance to the general election. Former President Donald Trump endorsed Bonck during the race.

David McIntosh, president of Club for Growth PAC, said, “Jon Bonck is committed to lowering taxes, supporting school freedom, and cutting red tape on overbearing regulations.” McIntosh continued, “Club for Growth PAC is proud to have played a role in Bonck’s runoff victory, and we look forward to him winning the general election this November.”

Club for Growth Action and its affiliated Super PACs invested over $300,000 in support of Bonck’s candidacy and publicized Trump’s endorsement. The organization also reported that its members contributed $42,046 directly to the Bonck campaign.

A Club for Growth Action advertisement titled ‘The Guy’ highlighted President Trump’s endorsement of Bonck during the race.

The press release noted that it was paid for by Club for Growth PAC and not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
