Steve Cortes, founder of the League of American Workers, said that new polling indicates increased support for President Trump’s border security agenda among Americans, independents, Hispanics, and parents following riots in Los Angeles. The statement was made on X.

“My new blockbuster POLL,” said Cortes. “Pres Trump’s America First agenda gets even more popular following the outrageous riots in L.A. 65% of Americans credit Trump for securing border. 61% Hispanics.”

Following the June 2025 unrest in Los Angeles, public opinion on U.S. border security and immigration enforcement has become increasingly polarized. According to the Washington Post, a poll conducted in June found that support for federal interventions such as ICE raids and military deployments was sharply divided along party lines. A majority of Californians and independents disapproved, reflecting broader debates over immigration policy and civil rights.

Recent polling by Pew Research Center in June 2025 found that 78% of Republicans approved of Donald Trump’s border security policies. However, only 42% of all Americans expressed approval, while 47% disapproved. This highlights persistent partisan splits with Trump’s border security agenda remaining popular within his base but less so nationally.

According to Axios, Trump’s support among Hispanic voters rose to 48% in the 2024 election compared to 36% in 2020, marking a significant increase. However, Reuters reported in April 2025 that Trump’s approval among Hispanic adults had dropped to 34%, with 46% disapproving. This reflects shifting attitudes toward his immigration policies over time.

Cortes is a political commentator and strategist who served as a senior advisor to Donald Trump’s campaigns in 2016 and 2020, focusing on Hispanic outreach and media relations. As reported by Key Speakers Bureau, he previously worked as a financial markets strategist and regularly appears on networks like Fox News and CNN to discuss conservative policies and economic issues.
