First Lady Melania Trump hosted a gathering of officials from 45 nations at the White House on March 25, introducing an American-made humanoid system, Figure3, during the event. The summit, held as part of the Fostering the Future Together initiative, marks the largest international assembly ever convened by a United States First Lady at the White House.
The event focused on integrating technology into education systems worldwide. Officials from nine countries—including France, Poland, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco—shared their national strategies for using technology in schools. In her keynote address, Mrs. Trump outlined three main pillars to shape future generations: personalizing learning through artificial intelligence (AI), employing humanoid educators as tools for students at home, and leveraging technology and education to drive America’s economy.
Mrs. Trump presented Figure3 as an example of advancing AI technologies entering diplomatic settings. “The future of AI is ‘personified’ – it will be formed in the shape of humans. Very soon artificial intelligence will move from our mobile phones to humanoids that deliver utility,” she said during her remarks.
She described how such systems could transform education by providing personalized experiences for students: “Imagine a humanoid educator named ‘Plato.’ Access to classical studies is now instantaneous – literature, science, art, philosophy, mathematics, and history – Humanity’s entire corpus of information is available in the comfort of your home.” She added that Plato would adapt to each student’s needs and always be patient and available.
Mrs. Trump also encouraged collaboration between public institutions and private sector companies such as Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, X (formerly Twitter), Palantir, Google, Zoom and Adobe to accelerate technological innovation in communities across sectors including commerce and healthcare.
In closing remarks she said: “Let’s inspire our children to build new platforms, create new industries… Let’s Foster the Future Together.” The summit highlighted ongoing efforts by governments worldwide to prepare young people with skills needed for an increasingly AI-driven society.
