The Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, Pablo José Hernández, has announced a federal grant of $558,750 for the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras. The funding is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and will support research in pharmacology, physiology, and biological chemistry.
“The UPR Río Piedras is a pillar of Puerto Rico’s scientific ecosystem. This investment recognizes its capacity and reinforces its role as a center of research excellence,” said Resident Commissioner Hernández.
The grant will fund research projects and help develop scientific talent at the Río Piedras campus. The initiative aims to bring direct benefits to health and education on the island.
