The Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, Pablo José Hernández, has announced that $9,019,296 in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be distributed to several community health centers across Puerto Rico.
“These funds strengthen medical services in our communities on the island, especially in areas with fewer resources. It is a direct investment in the health of our families and in the stability of essential services that thousands of Puerto Ricans depend on every day,” said Resident Commissioner Hernández.
According to Hernández, this grant will help expand healthcare services, modernize facilities, and increase service capacity for more patients throughout different regions of Puerto Rico.
The funding will be allocated as follows: Hospital General Castañer (serving Castañer, Lares, and Adjuntas) will receive $2,005,920; Costa Salud Community Health Centers (covering Rincón, Aguada, Moca and nearby municipalities) will get $2,061,655; HealthProMed Foundation is set to receive $3,403,498; and Centro de Salud de Lares (Lares) will obtain $1,548,223.
