Family Research Council (FRC) has announced that Walt Heyer will join the organization as a Senior Fellow. Heyer, who previously lived as a woman for eight years on the advice of his therapist, later returned to identifying as a man. He has since worked to support individuals navigating similar experiences.

In his new position, Heyer will work with Dr. Jennifer Bauwens, Director of the Center for Family Studies at FRC, focusing on issues related to gender ideology. Heyer operates the website sexchangeregret.com, which aims to provide resources and support for people seeking help regarding their gender identity.

Heyer commented on his appointment: “I am so grateful to join this stellar team and to be able to amplify my story so that Christians can understand the harms of gender identity and help others find redemption and restoration through Christ. I hope my story can bring healing to those who have experienced the same pains I have.”

Dr. Bauwens also shared her thoughts: “We are pleased to welcome Walt to the FRC family, and we look forward to incorporating his expertise into our work. His life’s story has brought hope and healing to countless people around the globe. We believe God is amplifying Walt’s journey to wholeness, for such a time as this, and his story will continue to promote freedom and encourage others to embrace their true identities in Christ.”
