The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has highlighted comments from a Republican consultant regarding the impact of tariff votes by Representative Eli Crane and House Republicans.

The issue centers on repeated votes to maintain tariffs, which the consultant said are contributing to higher costs for Arizonans. The DCCC pointed to these remarks as evidence that Crane and his colleagues are politically responsible for increased expenses faced by constituents.

According to the DCCC, “Tariffs raised costs. Crane and House Republicans are directly to blame for voting repeatedly to protect these cost-raising tariffs.” The committee also cited its spokesperson Lindsay Reilly, who said, “Republicans agree: Eli Crane’s repeated votes to support reckless, price-spiking tariffs prove to Arizonans that Crane is to blame for their rising costs.”

The comments were originally reported in the New York Times and further disseminated by the DCCC. The organization emphasized that even Republican consultants acknowledge the political consequences of supporting tariffs that increase consumer prices.
