The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has highlighted comments from a Republican consultant regarding Representative Juan Ciscomani and House Republicans’ votes on tariffs.

The issue centers on repeated votes by Ciscomani and other House Republicans to support tariffs, which the DCCC says have contributed to higher costs for Arizonans. The DCCC points to remarks from a Republican consultant who said that these votes are “making them culpable for those higher costs politically.”

According to the DCCC, “Tariffs raised costs. Ciscomani and House Republicans are directly to blame for voting repeatedly to protect these cost-raising tariffs.” The committee also cited its spokesperson Lindsay Reilly, who said, “Republicans agree: Juan Ciscomani’s repeated votes to support reckless, price-spiking tariffs prove to Arizonans that Ciscomani is to blame for their rising costs.”

The DCCC referenced coverage in the New York Times regarding the political implications of tariff policies supported by some Republican lawmakers.
