Juan Ciscomani and Eli Crane, along with House Republicans, are facing criticism for their economic policies, which some say have negatively impacted Arizona’s economy. According to recent reports, unemployment has reached its highest level since the pandemic recovery, and consumer sentiment has decreased by 28% over the past year. Additionally, Affordable Care Act premiums have increased by an average of 114%, attributed to a lack of action from Ciscomani and Crane.

Families in Arizona are reportedly paying nearly $1,200 due to tariff policies implemented by Republicans. If no changes occur, this cost is expected to double. American employers have laid off over 1.1 million workers, marking the highest total since the pandemic began. Furthermore, 51% of Americans report being unable to save as much as they would like.

Bankruptcy filings from individuals and small businesses have hit a record high of more than 2,200 cases. Electricity costs have also risen by an average of 11%. In contrast, billionaires appear to be benefiting from these policies. The top 1% is projected to receive over $1 trillion in tax cuts over the next decade due to what has been termed the “Big, Ugly Bill.” Billionaires’ wealth surged to a combined $6.9 trillion last year, while large corporations gained $16 billion in retroactive tax breaks.

Lindsay Reilly, spokesperson for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), commented on the situation: “Juan Ciscomani and Eli Crane chose billionaires over Arizonans, and it shows. Families are now stuck with higher costs, fewer protections, and an economy increasingly stacked against them. It’s time for real leadership who will fight for the people of Arizona.”
