Club for Growth PAC has announced its endorsement of Senator Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee’s gubernatorial race. Blackburn, who has received the Club for Growth’s Defender of Economic Freedom Award seven times, is running to replace Governor Bill Lee, who cannot seek re-election due to term limits.
“Senator Marsha Blackburn is a proven leader who has dedicated her career to public service, fighting every day to protect the individual freedoms and financial well-being of Tennesseans across the state,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh. “In the U.S. Senate, Blackburn championed tax cuts, eliminated burdensome regulations, and is an outspoken supporter of school freedom. Club for Growth PAC is proud to endorse Sen. Blackburn in this race, and we are confident she will continue to lead by example as Tennessee’s next Governor.”
The endorsement was first reported by Fox News’ Paul Steinhauser in an exclusive story. According to the release, Blackburn will compete against Rep. John Rose in the 2026 Republican primary.
Club for Growth PAC operates alongside Club for Growth Action, which describes itself as the largest conservative Super PAC in the United States. In 2024, candidates endorsed by Club for Growth PAC won nearly four out of five races they entered. During last year’s primary season, Club for Growth Action’s School Freedom Fund invested $3.6 million in Tennessee legislative primaries and contributed to defeating four Republicans opposed to school choice initiatives.
The organization also emphasized that Blackburn is a close ally of former President Donald Trump.
