The Club for Growth PAC announced on Apr. 8 that Clay Fuller has won the special runoff election in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, defeating Democrat Shawn Harris. Both candidates had advanced to the runoff after a March 10 special election. Fuller, who serves as Lookout Mountain District Attorney and is a 2021 Club for Growth Foundation Fellow, also received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump during the race.

The outcome of this election holds significance as it determines representation for Georgia’s 14th District in Congress. The support from national organizations and high-profile endorsements drew attention to the contest.

David McIntosh, president of Club for Growth PAC, said, “Clay Fuller is a battle-tested conservative who has spent his career fighting to limit government, eliminate wasteful spending, and bring education freedom to schools.” McIntosh continued: “His distinguished service in the United States Air Force, his tenure at the Department of Defense, and his record as Lookout Mountain District Attorney make him exactly the kind of representative Georgia’s 14th District deserves. Club for Growth PAC is proud to have stood behind his victory.”

According to the organization’s statement, Club for Growth Action invested over $500,000 in support of Fuller’s campaign. This included running a television advertisement highlighting President Trump’s endorsement.

Looking ahead, observers will watch how Fuller represents Georgia’s 14th Congressional District following this closely watched special election.
