BGR Group announced on March 30 that Charlie Chapman has joined the firm as a Vice President with its Health and Life Sciences Practice.
Chapman’s appointment brings additional experience to BGR Group, particularly in health care coverage and payment policy. The firm said he will help clients navigate changes in these areas.
“We are excited to welcome Charlie to the BGR team,” BGR President Erskine Wells said. “He brings tremendous experience from both the administration and Congress on several high profile issues in the health care space.”
Chapman previously served as a Policy Advisor in the Immediate Office of the Secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services during the Trump-Vance administration. In that role, he provided counsel on policy and operational issues under Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, contributed to major regulatory initiatives related to Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and Medicare, and coordinated with agencies including the White House.
Before his executive branch service, Chapman was a Professional Staff Member on the House Budget Committee where he advised on mandatory and discretionary health care programs. He helped craft provisions for significant legislation such as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. His earlier roles included working with House Ways and Means Committee staff.
Chapman also participated at national political events including serving on teams for both the 2024 Republican National Convention’s Official Proceedings team and for the Trump-Vance 60th Presidential Inaugural Committee.
