The Catholic Law evening division brought together students, alumni, and newly admitted candidates for its annual networking reception on March 11. The event was hosted and sponsored by alumni at Akin in Washington, D.C., in partnership with the Alumni & Development Office. Staff from Admissions and the Office of Career and Professional Development also attended, contributing to an atmosphere focused on building connections and supporting professional growth.

The gathering aimed to strengthen community ties among current students, graduates, and prospective members of the Catholic Law evening program. Such events are seen as important opportunities for attendees to expand their networks and share experiences within the legal field.

Stephen C. Payne, Dean and Knights of Columbus Professor of Law, welcomed guests at the reception. “Catholic Law alumni everywhere consistently highlight the enduring sense of community they experienced as students—one that continues well beyond graduation,” Payne said. He also shared updates on recent institutional progress and introduced Katherine I. Heise, a 2019 graduate of the evening program who is now an Associate at Akin.

The event highlighted the ongoing support network among members of the evening division. Organizers said it demonstrated how relationships formed during law school continue to benefit graduates throughout their careers.

As Catholic Law continues to host such gatherings, organizers expect these traditions will further reinforce bonds within its community.
