Policy analyst: 340B-eligible prescriptions filled at PBM-owned pharmacies ‘can be billed as if the drug was at full price’
A health policy analyst is raising concerns about the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program, arguing that prescriptions filled at pharmacy benefit manager-owned pharmacies can be billed to health plans as though the drugs were purchased at full price, even when they were acquired at steep discounts intended to support care for vulnerable patients.
