InfluenceWatch, a project operated by the Capital Research Center, serves as an online resource that compiles research on advocacy groups, foundations, and donors involved in shaping public policy. The website aims to increase transparency regarding these organizations’ funding sources, motivations, and relationships.
According to Capital Research Center, “The information compiled in InfluenceWatch gives news outlets and other interested parties research to use in reporting on significant topics that are often overlooked by the American public.”
Recently added profiles on InfluenceWatch include several organizations from different sectors:
The Lands Council is described as an environmental advocacy group focused on conservation efforts in the Northwestern United States. It has collaborated with federal agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service, along with environmental organizations like Save Our Wild Salmon and 1% for the Planet. Its financial supporters include New Priorities Foundation, Patagonia Foundation, Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment, and Network for Good.
Tent Schools International is a religious nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational centers and services for refugee and displaced children. Emily Klooster leads the group as executive director, having previously worked with World Renew and AmeriCorps. Tent Schools International’s funding comes from sources such as Raymond James Charitable Endowment Fund and National Christian Charitable Foundation.
Sustainable Marin operates locally in Marin County, California, advocating for climate policies aligned with reducing greenhouse gas emissions and encouraging low-carbon lifestyle changes. The group also maintains local climate activist networks. Its funders include Marin Community Foundation and Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment.
