BGR Group announces summer 2025 clerk class selections

The BGR Group has announced its Clerk Class for the summer of 2025, featuring students from universities across the United States. The group includes undergraduates and graduate students with diverse academic backgrounds such as economics, political science, public relations, and law.

Among those selected is Jason Astle from The College of Wooster, who studies economics and once appeared on the cover of a fishing magazine at age eight. John Couch is pursuing a J.D. at Tulane University after completing his undergraduate degree in political science at Auburn University. Meredith Dees attends the University of Mississippi and is noted for her expertise in Latvian military matters.

Other members include Darik De Jong from the University of Southern California, whose native language is Dutch; Nathan Elias from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who can do a flip on a wakeboard; and Molly Garvin from The University of Texas at Austin, who once convinced classmates she had been bitten by a shark.

Kenzie Green is enrolled in an M.S. program focusing on homeland security policy with an emphasis on cybersecurity at American University after earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida. David Griffith from the University of Mississippi was once a child understudy for “The Barney Show,” while Madeline Hagood from Oregon State University says cilantro tastes like soap.

Jane Hurst attends Tulane University and was born on Valentine’s Day. Rohit Iyer studies at Claremont McKenna College and spent six months abroad in Sevilla. Charlotte Johnson is studying political science at Providence College and studied abroad in Dublin.

Jack Jones majors in criminal justice with an emphasis on homeland security at the University of Mississippi and can speak Latin. Ishon Liao attends UNC Chapel Hill and served as president of his high school pickleball club.

Finn McGaan studies government at Cornell University and plays both piano and guitar. Cole Messina rebuilt a classic car with his father while attending George Mason University.

Other clerks include Brooks O’Donnell (Sewanee: The University of the South), Elise Raymond (Virginia Tech), Liam Reid (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Pierce Schooley (Virginia Tech), Billy Stallmer (Georgetown University), Kelvin VandeHei (Christopher Newport University), Adam Webb (James Madison University), and Thomas Wilkins (University of Mississippi).

Each member brings unique experiences to this year’s clerkship class, reflecting BGR Group’s continued commitment to fostering emerging talent in policy, law, public relations, health promotion, business administration, international politics, economic development, philosophy, art history, community development, homeland security policy, Spanish language skills, athletics, music performance, automotive repair skills, sailing ability, martial arts training, scuba diving certification, sports team ownership interests and media exposure through family connections or personal achievements.
