Jessica Hart Steinmann has been appointed Vice Chair of the America First Women’s Initiative (AFWI), according to an announcement from Stacey Schieffelin, Chair of AFWI. Steinmann will help guide the initiative as it focuses on policies based on Transparency, Revitalization and Reaffirmation, Unity, Trust, and Health (TRUTH).

Schieffelin stated: “Jessica is a fearless advocate for women and girls across America. From courtroom battles to cultural conversations, she has emerged as one of the boldest defenders of Title IX in the country, protecting fairness in sports and the First Amendment rights of young women. Her leadership will be a tremendous force for good as we grow this movement.”

Steinmann serves as Executive General Counsel and Vice Chair of Litigation for the America First Policy Institute. She has led federal lawsuits defending female athletes’ rights. Recently, she filed a Title IX lawsuit against the Oregon Department of Education regarding girls competing against males in K–12 sports and brought a First Amendment case representing two Oregon student-athletes who protested biological males’ participation on girls’ podiums.

“It is an honor to serve as Vice Chair of the America First Women’s Initiative,” said Steinmann. “No girl should lose her place on the podium or her voice in the classroom just for standing up for truth. This Initiative is about reclaiming what every woman deserves: dignity in her identity, opportunity to rise, and equal protection under the law.I’m proud to join Stacey in this mission.”

Steinmann lives with her family in Montgomery County, Texas, and remains active within the America First movement.
