Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) announced the creation of the America First Mayors’ Council. This new national initiative aims to empower local leaders and enhance the connection between federal policy and local governance.
The council is modeled after AFPI’s Governors’ Council and will provide a platform for mayors across the country committed to prioritizing families, restoring local control, and advancing America First principles in their communities.
“America’s future is being written in our neighborhoods, not in the halls of Washington,” said Scott Singer, Mayor of Boca Raton and Chair of the America First Mayors’ Council. “This initiative brings together local leaders who are on the frontlines every day to build stronger, safer, and more prosperous communities.”
The council focuses on national policy’s impact at a local level. It is designed to elevate mayors’ voices with tools, data, and community engagement strategies necessary for delivering results.
“Our Nation was built from the bottom up, not the top down,” said Ashley Hayek, AFPI Executive Vice President. “This council reflects our belief that real change happens when local leaders are empowered to lead free from federal overreach and bureaucratic interference.”
